Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a certified Electrician to join our Maintenance Team in Canada. You will maintain and service processing equipment, support safe plant operations, and ensure compliance with animal welfare standards.

Night shifts and weekend overtime may be required. The role requires Journeyman/Ticket or Red Seal certification, own hand tools, and the ability to troubleshoot in a high-paced food production environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman/Ticket or Red Seal Electrician certification is required.
• Must have own hand tools; power tools provided.
• Solid knowledge of plant and equipment operations.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical issues in a fast-paced setting.
• Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; capable of working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and install processing equipment, including electrical & mechanical systems.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain VFDs, motor controls, temperature sensors, and safety devices.
• Perform troubleshooting on electrical systems from 24V to 575V (3-phase) and read wiring diagrams.
• Apply instrumentation, controls, and PLC knowledge to optimize equipment performance.
• Complete preventative maintenance and work orders, tracking labour and parts in SAP or similar systems.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, labour hours, and parts usage.
