Job summary

Thrive Freeze Dry in Langley BC is seeking a detail-oriented Ammonia Certified Technician for night shift on a 12-hour rotating schedule. You will inspect and maintain freeze-dry systems, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and support safety and SQF compliance.

The role requires 4th Class Power Engineering Certification, 2+ years in ammonia/refrigeration or power engineering in manufacturing, and strong safety awareness. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in refrigerated environments.

Qualifications

• 4th Class Power Engineering Certification is required.
• Minimum two years of ammonia or freon refrigeration/power engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance with safety requirements.
• Knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs, kneel, climb, crawl, twist.
• Able to work in a temperature-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform daily maintenance on all equipment (Freeze Dry System & others).
• Measure and troubleshoot temperature, pressure, and fuel flow; detect leaks or failures.
• Ensure system start-up and shutdown operations are maintained.
• Implement corrective actions and minor repairs to prevent failures.
• Manage daily lubrications and other tasks.
• Keep workspace clean after repairs.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly reporting as required.
• Assist in development of operating, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Act as back-up ammonia lead to meet SQF requirements when needed.
• Handle other tasks as assigned.
