Job summary

Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited, part of Kruger Publication Papers, is seeking a Power Engineer to operate the Steam Plant and maintain related systems in Corner Brook, NL. You will oversee a high‑pressure boiler, water treatment, and a 17 MW Turbogenerator while upholding safety and efficiency standards.

Ideal candidates have a 3rd Class Power Engineering Ticket (preference for 2nd class), industrial experience, WHMIS and First Aid certificates, and readiness for after‑hours calls and

Qualifications

• A minimum, candidates will have a 3rd Class Power Engineering Ticket, but preference will be given to someone working toward their 2nd class ticket.
• Previous experience working in an industrial environment is an asset
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and changing priorities
• Ability to work short notice and after hours calls
• All applicants should possess a grade 12 diploma or equivalent in addition to their power engineering certificate
• All applicants will have WHMIS training and possess Standard First Aid Certification
• Applicant must provide proof of all relevant qualifications and be available to participate in a pre-employment testing procedure

Responsibilities

• Operate and control the Steam Plant and high-pressure boiler and auxiliaries.
• Check and maintain the demineralized water treatment system and ensure safe startup of systems.
• Safely start up and operate a 17 MW Siemens Turbogenerator.
• Willing to work on tasks outside the Steam Plant as required, including labour work.
