Job summary

Qualified candidates hold a 2nd Class Certificate and can work legally in Canada. Industrial experience and the ability to operate and maintain various production units are essential. Competitive compensation includes shift premiums and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off schedule.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all processes and equipment in the steam plant and recovery department.
• Operate and maintain low and high pressure steam systems.
• Operate equipment to support production units including turbines, pumps, compressors, cooling towers and gas systems.
• Perform housekeeping duties and preventive/operational maintenance as assigned.
• Provide isolation, lockouts, clearances and safe work permits on Utilities systems and process equipment.
• Previous experience in an industrial facility is an asset.

Job description

We are looking for a 2 nd Class power engineer to join our team to fill a current vacancy. Candidates must have at least a 2nd Class Certificate and be able to legally work in Canada at the time of applying for the position. Candidates should have industrial experience and be able to work safely independently or as part of a team. We offer a four on, four off shift work schedule. The successful candidate will work as a power engineer and provide relief as a Utilities Shift Supervisor (USS) and works a four on, four off 12-hour shift rotation.

Skills and Responsibilities:

• Monitors all processes and equipment in the steam plant and recovery department,
• Operate and maintain low and high pressure steam systems,
• Operate equipment to support various production units including turbines, pumps, compressors, cooling towers and gas systems,
• Performs housekeeping duties and operational maintenance as assigned,

• Previous experience working in an industrial facility would be an asset.

Compensation:

• Candidates with a 2nd Class Certificate start at $38.88/hour and can earn $54.20 when working as a USS. There are also shift and Sunday pay premiums.
• There is an opportunity for employees to earn an additional $1.00/hour once an on-line course is completed. The course is paid for by the company,
