Job summary

Nutrien is hiring for a Powerhouse position at our facility in Saskatchewan. The role focuses on safe operation and maintenance of the powerhouse, including HVAC and water treatment tasks, with opportunities to cover shift rotations as needed.

Ideal candidates bring a Second Class Engineer’s Certificate or progress toward it, plus industrial experience and strong teamwork and communication skills. Training will be provided to support safety-first operations.

Qualifications

• Second Class Engineer’s Certificate is preferred but a forward path to Second Class is considered.
• Potable water treatment experience is an asset.
• Demonstrated safety leadership and positive safety behavior.
• Able to work safely in a team or independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn and gain knowledge through training.
• Ability to make and implement decisions under all conditions.
• 3–5 years of stable industrial experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment following Nutrien safety policies.
• Use appropriate tools and equipment for tasks and ensure coworker safety.
• Day-to-day general maintenance of the Powerhouse.
• Operate the Water Treatment Plant.
• Provide relief coverage for powerhouse operators.
• Perform light preventative maintenance on HVAC and makeup air equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all Nutrien safety policies and procedures
• Use the appropriate tools and equipment for the task and ensure the safety of fellow employees
• Day to day general maintenance of the Powerhouse
• Operate the Water Treatment Plant
• Operate in relief of powerhouse operators
• Light preventative maintenance of all HVAC and make up air equipment

What You’ll Bring

• Second Class Engineer’s Certificate preferred but may consider Third class ticket holder working toward Second class ticket
• Potable water treatment experience would also be an asset
• Positive Safety behavior and safety leadership
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
• Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training

• Stable work record with 3 to 5 years’ experience, preferably in an industrial environment is an asset
