Job summary

Nutrien is hiring a Pipefitting Technician at our Carseland, Alberta site. You will support day-to-day maintenance of piping components, fixed equipment, and related systems, deploying preventive maintenance and repairs under supervision, while using SAP for maintenance activities.

The role requires significant plant maintenance experience in a chemical/petrochemical setting, strong communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plant maintenance experience in a chemical/petrochemical industry.

• Participate in team safety meetings, audits, and Job Task Observation of peers.
• Execute day-to-day maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Maintain tools, work area, and equipment in clean, orderly condition.
• Read and interpret construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with other maintenance trades, operations, and technical groups.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule.
• Manage contract group through various projects or tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance during shutdowns/outages/turnarounds to return plant to service on schedule.

Reporting to the Pipefitting/Welding Supervisor, the Pipefitter Technician is responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient execution of preventative, routine, and immediate maintenance requirements across Carseland Nitrogen Operations. This position has the primary responsibility for the maintenance and repair of utility and process piping as well as fixed equipment such as drums, towers and exchangers.

This position is located at Nutrien's Carseland, Alberta site (approximately 25km East of Calgary).

What You'll Do:

• Assistwith the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of piping components and systems, as well as fixed equipment such as tanks,towersand exchangers
• Maintenance and repair of utility and process piping as well as fixed equipment such as drums, towers, and exchangers
• Implement the Preventive Maintenance program for piping and fixed equipment systems such as steam, traps, check valves, manual isolation valves, tanks, towers, and exchangers
• Utilize SAP software for daily maintenance activities
• Active participation in team safety meetings,auditsand Job Task Observation of peers
• Day-to-day safe and efficient execution of the department’s preventative, routine, and immediate maintenance requirements
• Maintain all tools, workareaand equipment a clean and orderly fashion
• Read andinterpret construction fabrication drawings and specifications
• Work alongside and in cooperation with other maintenance trades, operations, and technical groups
• Participate in the rotating on call schedule
• Manage contract group through various projects or tasks
• Coordinate and executed maintenance work during shutdowns, outages, and turnarounds to help return the plant to service on schedule.
