Job summary

Nutrien is hiring a Powerhouse Operator in Rocanville, Saskatchewan. This role operates the Powerhouse and Water Treatment Plant, ensuring safety and reliability in our industrial facility.

You will work with a team, follow Nutrien safety policies, and perform light maintenance on HVAC and makeup air equipment while overseeing day-to-day operations and providing relief coverage when needed.

Qualifications

• Second Class Engineer’s Certificate preferred; may consider Third class ticket while working toward Second class.
• Potable water treatment experience is an asset.
• Strong safety mindset and leadership in safety.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment as well as independently.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment following Nutrien safety policies.
• Operate the Powerhouse and Water Treatment Plant daily.
• Provide relief coverage for powerhouse operators as needed.
• Perform light preventative maintenance on HVAC and makeup air equipment.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all Nutrien safety policies and procedures
• Use the appropriate tools and equipment for the task and ensure the safety of fellow employees
• Day to day general maintenance of the Powerhouse
• Operate the Water Treatment Plant
• Operate in relief of powerhouse operators
• Light preventative maintenance of all HVAC and make up air equipment

What You'll Bring:

• Second Class Engineer’s Certificate preferred but may consider Third class ticket holder working toward Second class ticket
• Potable water treatment experience would also be an asset
• Positive Safety behavior and safety leadership
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
• Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
• Ability to make and implement decisions under all conditions
• Stable work record with 3 to 5 years’ experience, preferably in an industrial environment is an asset
