Qualifications

Job description

Area of Interest: Advisory services, Commercial banking

A career in the Specialized Groups of the Commercial & Private management sector offers the opportunity to work with leading players in sectors such as Technology & Innovation, Health, Agri-food, Creative Industries, and Professional Firms on financing projects ranging from $1 to over $200 million.

As a Portfolio Manager within Specialized Groups, you will collaborate with colleagues to provide strategic support to companies across Canada. Your diverse and complex tasks will help you become a trusted advisor to companies transforming the world.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Playing a consulting role aligned with client needs by leveraging your professional expertise.
  • Achieving clients' business objectives by proposing financial strategies using a mix of specialized financing products.
  • Developing sector-specific funding strategies and guidelines to support VPAs.
  • Supporting account managers and senior managers during the implementation and monitoring of financing files.
  • Identifying financial risks and recommending measures to mitigate them.
  • Preparing financing files, analyzing, and structuring financing solutions for companies.
  • Participating in client meetings and presenting financing options, in collaboration with account managers.
  • Negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, including legal advisors, financial institutions, and clients.
  • Using risk and profitability assessment tools to ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Team environment:

You will be part of a large, expert team within the structured financing group, reporting to the Director of credit risk underwriting. Our team specializes in complex credit structuring and operates in a hybrid work model.

Basic requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree related to the industry with 7 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in complex trade credit and acquisition loans, with knowledge of business products and services.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial models.
  • Experience in customer service, negotiation, and business development.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage priorities and deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Knowledge of capital market debt instruments and syndicated financing is advantageous.

Languages: Ability to serve clients speaking languages other than French is required.
