Job summary

Government of Alberta is seeking a Policy and Research Analyst in Edmonton to support Court Policy with research and advisory input. You will engage in multiple research projects on government initiatives, policies, programs and services affecting court and resolution services and provide information to the public and stakeholders.

The role reports to the Manager, Court Policy, and involves preparing briefing notes, memos, and proposals for senior leadership, including the Minister of Justice

Qualifications

  • University graduation in a related field plus two years of policy and research analysis and development experience.
  • Equivalency: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and synthesize information to support recommendations to senior and executive management.
  • Work with teams and stakeholders in an advisory capacity to inform policy decisions.
  • Respond to inquiries by researching and providing information on court services and programs.
  • Define problems and develop recommendations to support executive decision making and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate projects and initiatives within the division and with other provincial departments.
