Job summary

The J. Hansen HVAC Group Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Plumbing Apprentice – Level 4 to join our team in Winnipeg.

You will work under the supervision of licensed Journeyman Plumbers to assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in both commercial and residential environments. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to developing trade skills in a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Registered Plumbing Apprentice in Manitoba, Level 4 preferred.
• Enrollment in an approved apprenticeship program is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Service experience is considered an asset.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently under supervision.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and on ladders.
• Must be comfortable with 24-hour emergency service on a rotating schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to provide a driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

• Assist reading blueprints and determine plumbing layouts.
• Support installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and systems.
• Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes with hand and power tools.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, holes and fixtures.
• Help install water supply networks and waste/drainage systems.
• Assist with gas piping installations under licensed supervision.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of plumbing systems.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites and follow safety policies.
• Complete assigned documentation and service reports.
• Support on-call 24-hour emergency service as required.

Job description

The J. Hansen HVAC Group Inc. is seeking a motivated and dependable Plumbing Apprentice – Level 4 to join our team. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of licensed Journeyman Plumbers to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial and residential environments.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to developing their trade skills in a safety-focused and team-oriented environment. With a strong work ethic and attention to detail, the Plumbing Apprentice will contribute to delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service while progressing through their apprenticeship program.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine plumbing system layouts
• Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
• Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools
• Assist with locating and marking positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors
• Help install water supply networks and waste and drainage systems
• Assist with gas piping installations under the supervision of a licensed Gas Fitter
• Perform routine maintenance and support troubleshooting of plumbing systems
• Maintain clean and organized job sites
• Follow all company safety policies and Manitoba plumbing and gas code requirements
• Complete assigned documentation and assist with service reports
• Support 24-hour emergency service on a flexible rotating on-call schedule as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to provide a driver’s abstract
