Job summary

Ainsworth Inc is seeking a Plumbing Technician in Saskatoon. You will work in a commercial plumbing service team, handling diagnostics, repairs, and installations while ensuring customer satisfaction.

The role requires registration in the plumbing trade in Saskatchewan or a red-seal journeyperson certificate. This is an excellent opportunity for current apprentices looking to gain valuable experience in the field while working on diverse systems and providing essential service to clients.

Qualifications

  • Registration in the plumbing trade in Saskatchewan or red-seal journeyperson certificate.
  • Currently working as an apprentice plumber gaining recognizable trade hours.
  • Consideration for apprentices Level 2 or 3 who understand basic plumbing principles.
  • Previous service experience is preferred for journeypersons.

Responsibilities

  • Accept and complete service requests from dispatch.
  • Take full responsibility for assigned service work.
  • Respond to emergency service requests at any time.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and compliant manner.

Job description

Job Summary

As a member of our commercial plumbing service team you will work with other plumbers and independently to diagnose, repair, and calibrate systems as well as replace various components as required. You will diagnose problems, explain these to customers in clear, non-technical terms, relay budget costs to customers as required, and offer alternative solutions. As a field technician you will work with dispatch and other office staff as required ensuring that our clients’ needs are met. This position also involves the installation of new equipment as required. You will work on a variety of heating and plumbing systems regarding manufacturer and design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accept work assignments from dispatch and complete service requests as required.
  • Take full responsibility for the assigned service work from dispatch until the issue(s) have been resolved and the client is 100% satisfied.
  • Work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM but overtime hours may need to be worked if required.
  • Respond to emergency service requests regardless of time of day.
  • Participate in the on‑call rotation and ensure after‑hour calls are answered and all client needs are met.
  • Work with the service manager to ensure the above is consistently maintained.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
  • Registration in the plumbing trade in Saskatchewan or a red‑seal journeyperson certificate in plumbing.
  • Must currently be working as an apprentice plumber and gaining trade hours recognizable by Saskatchewan Polytechnic if not yet a journeyperson.
  • Consideration will be given to apprentices Level 2 or 3 who can demonstrate they possess the basic principles of the plumbing trade: plumbing new‑build “rough‑ins”, installation of gas lines, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, connecting and testing plumbing fixtures, basic service on plumbing fixtures and heating equipment. For those who have attained a Journeyperson certification prior experience in the above is a necessity.
  • Some service experience is an asset for apprentices and a requirement for journeypersons.
  • Must be working towards obtaining a general gas ticket and attaining journeyman certification within the plumbing trade in an apprenticeship.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
