Job summary

A&B Mechanical Ltd. is hiring Plumbing Apprentices for multiple project sites in Winnipeg, MB. You will assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, read blueprints, and support rough-ins and commissioning under supervision.

Qualifications include registration eligibility with Apprenticeship Manitoba at level 2–4 and a Manitoba Class 5 license. Safety, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are essential for this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Registered (or eligible to register) as a Plumbing Apprentice with Apprenticeship Manitoba - level 2-4.
• Valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license.
• Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position, including material handling and work in varied job-site conditions, with reasonable accommodation where required.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to take direction and work well as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution, drainage, waste, and venting systems
• Install and connect fixtures, piping, valves, and equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Cut, thread, solder, solvent-weld, and join various pipe types (copper, PVC/ABS, steel)
• Support rough-ins, pressure testing, and commissioning of plumbing systems
• Load, organize, and maintain tools, materials, and company vehicles
• Follow all safety procedures, building codes, and site rules
• Attend in-school technical training as required by Apprenticeship Manitoba

We are currently hiring for multiple roles for Plumbing Apprentices for various project sites.

Job Duties:

Assets (Not Required):

• Prior plumbing or construction experience, or completed Level 1-4 training
• WHMIS certification or other safety training
• Experience with hand and power tools
• Basic knowledge of plumbing codes and blueprints
