Job description

The Opportunity:

The Reliability Pipe-Fitter / Plumber will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility for the daily production of our DeliBolo and Wiener products. They will ensure safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Conduct planned preventive & predictive maintenance Work Orders and keep maintenance records and enter required information into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • As needed, troubleshoot corrective work repairs and install processing pipework fixes and upgrades to allow efficient repair/replacement to occur.
  • Actively participate in preventive maintenance WO program on Facility equipment and processing pipe systems daily and provide record keeping of such tasks. Where necessary, identify parts required to complete these tasks as follow-ups.
  • Complete pipe repairs and system maintenance activities (e.g., hot water, brine, and cold water systems running from the tank farm to AI holding tanks).
  • Ensure unblocked and secured flow in and around the facility through to wastewater plant and sewers.
  • Complete steam pipe upgrades and securing of such systems as required throughout the facility steam systems.
  • General facilities work in the plant with plumbing repairs to sinks, eye wash stations, emergency safety showers, and drain systems as needed to the wastewater plant.
  • Assist in planning and organizing work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation) and provide feedback to planners to improve current system of work.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain piping systems and various production systems as needed (e.g., vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and drawings to determine work procedures and/or order necessary parts and participate knowledgeably in plant issues.
  • Collaborate with Reliability Peers to ensure that all preventive and predictive routines are completed at predetermined intervals.
  • Continually analyze and improve the state of current PMs and corrective work orders by participating in weekly meetings with supervision.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Certified Steam Fitter/Pipe Fitter (307A)
  • Certified Plumber (306A/NOC 7251)
  • 3+ years experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems). SAP knowledge would be an asset.
  • High regard for safety and environment in both own personal work and that of others in the team
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills in communications and team dynamics
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and passionate individual who has a high sense of urgency, thrives with a wide variety of work, and can deliver consistent results on multiple priorities.
