Job summary

1st Class Collaborative Intervention Support Services Institute (1st Class CISS) seeks a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our early intervention team as an in-house contracted professional. The SLP will provide direct services within our program settings and work closely with educators and families to support children's communication development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA). This is a mandatory requirement.
• Valid liability insurance as required for contracted practice.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search (required before commencement of contract).
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate (or ability to complete upon contract commencement).

Responsibilities

• Provides 1:1 and small group speech-language therapy services in program and classroom settings.
• Embeds communication goals into daily play routines and classroom activities.
• Engages with children on the floor to build trust and meaningful communication opportunities.
• Conducts formal and informal assessments across speech, language, and social communication.
• Develops individualized therapy plans with the interdisciplinary team and families.
• Applies Gestalt Language Processing and natural language development approaches.
• Implements self-regulation strategies to support readiness for communication and learning.
• Maintains compliant documentation and participates in program reviews and professional development.
