Job summary

e4c is hiring a Speech and Language Pathologist to work with multidisciplinary teams to support children’s language development and communication. You will participate in prevention and intervention activities and tailor services to each child’s plan and diverse needs.

You will mentor staff and families, engage communities, and contribute to IPP development, diagnostics, and documentation. The role emphasizes collaboration, evidence-informed practice, and culturally responsive care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current registration with ACSLPA is required.
• 1+ year experience with preschool children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and educate team members and parents about communication development and intervention strategies.
• Engage families to discuss child’s communication abilities through parent groups and home visits.
• Assess, diagnose, and intervene for a small caseload of children with communication and developmental delays.

Position Summary

As a Speech and Language Pathologist, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support children’s communication and language development. You will engage in activities designed to prevent or reduce the impact of communication delays or disabilities and promote the success and well-being of all children. You will provide specialized expertise in the development and delivery of programming and services that are responsive to individual case plans and the diverse needs of the children we serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and educate team members and parents about general communication development and intervention strategies, and the specific needs of their children.
• Explore and create meaningful opportunities to engage families about the child’s communication abilities (i.e. parent groups, home education visits etc.)
• Engage in an ongoing process of assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to a small caseload of children with communication and other developmental delays.
• Contribute to the development and review of IPPs for each child who receives Program Unit Funding.
• Prepare current diagnostic statements for all children receiving special education funding.
• Document on IPP communication strengths, areas of growth and assessment results.
• Conduct and maintain program related assessments, evaluations and reports to effectively deliver and evaluate the program.

Qualifications

Education

• Masters’ Degree in Speech and Language Pathology
• Current registration with ACSLPA.

Experience

• 1 + year experience working with pre-school aged children.
• Experience working with socially, economically, and / or culturally diverse children and their families.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team is an asset.
