Job summary

HealthPRO Pediatrics, a division of HealthPro Heritage, is seeking an itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist for leave coverage in Cortland, NY. You will support Early Intervention and Preschool populations across home-based and center-based settings.

This temporary role offers 35 hours per week (full-time) with potential for permanent placement, compensation $40.00–$45.00+/hour, and time counted for direct and indirect service; active CCC-SLP required.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, or license eligible (CCC-SLP only).
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is required or preferred.
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, and swallowing abilities using standardized tests and clinical observations. Develop accurate diagnoses based on assessment results.
  • Treatment and Education: Implement evidence-based therapies for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders; monitor and adjust treatment plans; educate and support patients and families on disorders, treatment strategies, and daily communication improvement.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of evaluations, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective patient care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.

Overview

Itinerant Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Leave Coverage | Cortland, NY

HealthPRO Pediatrics is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist for an itinerant leave coverage position in Cortland, NY. In this role, you will support Early Intervention and Preschool populations across both home-based and center-based settings, depending on caseload needs.

  • Role Type: Temporary Leave Coverage w/ possible permanent placement | 3 months + (Sept 1, 2026 – Dec 1, 2026)

  • Schedule: Full-Time (35 hours/week, also open to Part-time)

  • Compensation: $40.00 – $45.00+/hour (Translating to $81,900+/school year) . Both direct and indirect service time are fully compensated—you never lose pay for documentation, meetings, or prep time.

  • Requirements: Active CCC-SLP (CFYs are not considered for this specific coverage role).

Proficient in using diagnostic tools, therapy equipment, relevant software, and electronic health record systems, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
