Job summary

The Aboriginal Head Start Association of BC is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist to support infants, toddlers and preschoolers across BC Aboriginal Head Start childcare programs. The role focuses on identifying needs, providing direct support to children and families, and enabling educators with strategies for language development.

This contracted, part-time position (20–30 hours per week) may require some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Speech and Language Pathologist with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
• Recent experience with infants, toddlers or preschoolers preferred.
• Valid BC Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to children and families across Aboriginal Head Start programs in BC.
• Support Early Childhood Educators to build skills and strategies for communication and language development.
• Collaborate with a small team of early interventionists; travel as required; schedule may include some evenings/weekends.
