Who we’re looking for:

The Platform Specialist will focus on planning and supporting our Virtualization (VMware, Nutanix AHV, HCI) and Storage environments (NetApp), while also supporting Backup (NetBackup, Commvault) environments managed by the Infrastructure Services Team.

What you’ll do:

1. Deliver patch management and security agents to all infrastructure assets.
2. Report on service metrics, including analytics, capacity, and performance of virtualization environment, as requested by leadership.
3. Participate in triage and root cause analysis.
4. Contribute to establishing an annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) for your career development.
5. Provide infrastructure platform expertise for Rogers technology projects and initiatives.
6. Offer 3rd tier support to Server Operations teams for incidents related to infrastructure platforms.
7. Contribute to vulnerability management programs.
8. Create and maintain support documentation for processes like patching and hardware deployments.
9. Assist in identifying server assets, versions, patch levels, and agent statuses.
10. Build reporting functionalities and self-service capabilities in vRealize (vRops), maintaining ongoing compliance reports for agents and patches.
11. Serve as an escalation resource and represent the team on infrastructure and application integration issues related to agent installs, patching, or other projects.
12. Support the infrastructure environment through standard ITSM processes.
13. Provide technical input and demonstrate industry best practices.

What you bring:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with end users, team members, and vendors.
• Interest and understanding of Security and Cyber Security concepts relevant to infrastructure.
• Experience with NetApp storage solutions.
• Ability to independently manage work to deliver enterprise programs, with strong knowledge of VMware, Azure Stack HCI, Nutanix, NetApp Storage, and backup technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to engage in Service Requests, Incidents, Changes, and Problems in ServiceNow, both for program activities and daily operations.
• Availability for after-hours, evening, or weekend shifts for system patching.
• Participation in team on-call rotations (24/7) and handling escalations involving complex incident resolution.

This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the Calgary office at Barlow 2400 32 Ave NE. You can choose your in-office days.
