Role Overview

The Platform Specialist will focus on planning and supporting our Virtualization (VMware, Nutanix AHV, HCI) and Storage environments (NetApp), while providing support for Backup environments (NetBackup, Commvault) managed by the Infrastructure Services Team.

What You'll Do

1. Deliver patch management and related security agents to all infrastructure assets.
2. Report on and analyze service metrics including capacity and performance of virtualization environments as requested.
3. Participate in triage and root cause analysis.
4. Contribute to establishing an annual Performance Management Plan (PMP) for career development.
5. Provide infrastructure technology expertise for Rogers technology projects and initiatives.
6. Offer 3rd tier support to Server Operations teams for incidents related to infrastructure platforms.
7. Participate in Vulnerability Management program activities.
8. Create and maintain support documentation for processes like patching and hardware deployments.
9. Assist in identifying server assets, versions, patch levels, and agent statuses.
10. Build reporting functionalities and self-serve capabilities in vRealize (vRops), maintaining compliance reporting for agents and patches.
11. Serve as escalation resource and represent the team on infrastructure and application integration issues.
12. Support infrastructure environments through standard ITSM processes.
13. Provide input based on technical expertise, understanding industry best practices.

What You Bring

1. Excellent communication skills for interaction with end users, team members, and vendors.
2. Interest and understanding of Security and Cyber Security concepts related to infrastructure.
3. Experience with NetApp storage systems.
4. Ability to independently manage work involving VMware, Azure Stack HCI, Nutanix, NetApp Storage, and backup technologies.
5. Strong troubleshooting/support skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
6. Willingness to engage in Service Requests, Incidents, Changes, and Problems in ServiceNow.
7. Availability for after-hours or weekend work for patching activities.
8. Participation in team On-Call Rotations (24/7) and complex incident resolution.
