Job summary

AMD in Vancouver, BC seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer to design and evolve secure AI infrastructure applications and tools for ML and LLM workloads on modern cloud and GPU infrastructure.

You will combine hands-on full-stack engineering with strategic leadership, influence roadmaps, mentor engineers, and drive performance, security, and operability across teams while staying current on cloud-native and AI trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive design of complex, data-heavy backend services and user-facing applications for AI/GPU and platform workflows (Kubernetes, APIs, integrations).
• Set and evolve architectural direction for Kubernetes toolchain, APIs and UIs enabling core AI workflows; ensure security, scalability, and maintainability under real customer load.
• Optimize systems for efficiency, performance and reliability; debug and resolve production issues.
• Embed engineering excellence: code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and API/design standards.
