Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Operations Level 2 – Plasma Machine Operator for our Guelph facility in Ontario. The role involves operating robotic and CNC plasma machinery to fabricate structural steel components, with a daytime schedule Monday-Thursday and Friday.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of CNC plasma machine experience, can read shop drawings, and works safely in a team environment. Pay ranges from $29.00 to $34.00 per hour and is a full-time evaluation hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience operating a CNC plasma machine.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor robotic and CNC machinery to process structural steel components accurately.
• Read shop fabrication drawings to ensure correct parts are produced from specified material blanks.
• Load and unload material using manual handling and overhead crane operation.
• Mark and verify processed material against shop drawings before release.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and contribute to a positive team environment.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday – 6:55 am-4:25 pm & Friday 6:55 am- 3:25 pm

About the Role:

Express Employment is currently recruiting for a Plasma Machine Operator to join a local manufacturer and automated fabrication
facility in Guelph.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor robotic and CNC machinery to process structural steel
  components accurately
• Read shop fabrication drawings to ensure correct parts are produced from specified material blanks
• Load and unload material using manual handling and overhead crane operation
• Mark and verify processed material against shop drawings before release
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience operating a CNC plasma machine (preferred)
• 3+ years of machine operation and setup (required)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards
• Attention to detail and willingness to contribute to process improvements
