Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Guelph, ON, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to set up and run precision lathes, read blueprints, and maintain tight tolerances. The role offers a Monday–Thursday 6:00 am–3:00 pm schedule with an early Friday finish, in-person work, and opportunities for long-term advancement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on CNC lathe experience, familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas controls, and strong measurement skills.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measurement tools.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC controls.
• Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy.
• 5+ years of hands‑on CNC lathe experience, including full setup and production.
• Familiarity with G-code and CNC program editing is preferred.
• Experience with both custom, prototype and short‑run to long‑run production.
• Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, indicators, micrometers, height gauges).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts from technical drawings
• Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine settings
• Inspect initial parts and make adjustments to ensure quality standards
• Monitor machining processes and make real-time corrections
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and use precision measuring tools

• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve efficiency
