Job summary

ATCO is seeking a Plant Administrator in Canada to support daily operations through budgeting, financial tracking, and administrative coordination. You will help ensure smooth workflows, timely documentation, and reliable support for plant leadership.

The role requires strong numerical accuracy, proficient MS Office use, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to manage budgets and procurement under a union framework.

Qualifications

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Great learning ability, initiative, mature judgment and responsible work habits.
  • Accurate with numbers, and proficient in spelling and grammar.
  • Must have strong record keeping, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to deal effectively and courteously with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Experience or knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 Apps: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Teams.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility, initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize conflicting demands, and the ability to present information to field operations and company management in a simple and concise manner.
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety and a culture of caring.

Responsibilities

  • Input and implement budgets per commercial operations.
  • Monitor ongoing expenses across operations and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare month-end financial information, invoices, LEMs, accruals, and variance explanations.
  • Conduct monthly financial forecasting and maintenance/technical services forecast updates.
  • Manage requisitions, receipts, and invoices to assets, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain detailed transaction records for audits and reporting.
  • Support site leadership with a variety of administrative tasks.
