Job summary

The Village of Kaslo seeks a Planning Technician to support planning, development and land use services in this distinctive BC community. You will review development inquiries, help applicants navigate bylaws, and contribute to zoning research and mapping.

A post-secondary education in planning or related discipline and at least two years of experience are required; GIS experience is an asset. This role offers meaningful municipal exposure and a path to grow in planning.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in planning or related discipline.
Minimum of two years of related experience.
Sound understanding of zoning, land use and development processes.
Ability to interpret bylaws and property information.
Ability to work with applicants and the public and manage multiple files.

Responsibilities

Respond to planning and development inquiries and review development applications.
Assist applicants in navigating Village bylaws and processes.
Support zoning research, mapping, GIS, and bylaw administration.
Contribute to planning reports, public notices and Council/public hearing processes.
