Job summary

City of West Kelowna is seeking a Senior Development Engineering Technologist to provide expert technical reviews of complex land use applications, including subdivisions and building permits. You will assess infrastructure, prepare servicing agreements and coordinate approvals with internal departments and external agencies.

The ideal candidate brings a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, eligibility for AScT, and ~7 years of subdivision design and municipal engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Member of, or eligible for, the AScT designation with ASCT BC affiliation.
• 7 years related experience in subdivision design, BC Building Code, municipal engineering, and land development infrastructure.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), GIS, and development services software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal/external relations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle complex engineering issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical reviews and assessments of land use applications (subdivisions, zoning amendments, permits).
• Evaluate infrastructure conditions and prepare servicing agreements for development projects.
• Coordinate approvals with internal departments and external agencies; advise Approving Officer.
