The City of Delta’s Development Department is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Planning Technician 1 to work within the Development Planning Division. This is a temporary full-time position with an anticipated duration of approximately 12 months.
Reporting to the Manager of Development Planning or Manager of Priority Projects, the Planning Technician 1 will review and process a variety of minor land use applications including subdivisions, minor rezonings, land use permits and sign permits; prepare plans, maps and other visual communications and graphics material to support planning reports and projects; and respond to public enquiries related to zoning, land use and related matters. The Planning Technician 1 may also conduct research and data analysis, draft reports and memos, and perform other related work to support the department’s planning work.

Membership or eligibility for membership in the Planning Institute of BC and the Canadian Institute of Planners is preferred. This position requires a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $46.90 -$55.38/hour and an excellent benefits package.
