The Planning and Application Specialist is responsible for the development of Space Planning and Furniture Application assets that will provide the sales organization with the knowledge they require to effectively sell our portfolio of products worldwide.
What are the key responsibilities of this position?
- Maintain a good working knowledge of office furniture planning principles and industry trends and standards
- Develop a full understanding of the unique features of Teknion's furniture portfolio to assist in providing space planning expertise
- Space plan optimal thought starter layouts to be used in Product Application Guides, on the thought starter Planning Tool and in Application Training materials
- Prepare content for Application Guides including product descriptions, planning tips, restrictions, best practices and value engineering
- in collaboration with our Industrial Designers, incorporate their research into Product Application and Training content
- in collaboration with Product Managers, develop content for Product Animations, Floorplan Walkthroughs, Furniture
- Planning Videos etc. that focus on the inspiration and features of products, how to space plan with new and existing products and on blending with other products in the Teknion portfolio
- Provide space planning and Interior Design product knowledge as it applies to the creation of workstations, mockups and branded photoshoots, etc.
- provide specification training to Dealer Specifiers, Interior Designers, Sales Reps and Internal Trainers on new products
- Contribute to the creation of yearly Knowledge pieces through the preparation of furniture layouts
What skills and experience do you need to succeed?
- College or University Degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design or related
- Minimum 2 years proven industry planning experience
- Analytical, strategic thinking and detail oriented
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills, Product Specification software (20/20 or Project Matrix), AutoCAD, visualization software such as SketchUp, Keyshot or 3d Studio Max
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
