Job summary

Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a Pipefitter for a full-time, permanent unionized role. The position requires reading drawings and specs, installing piping systems, and using threading/grooving equipment.

You will ensure safety and compliance with company procedures while contributing to a collaborative team. Applicants must hold a Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber or Steamfitter; the role offers bonuses and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber or Steamfitter is required.
• Experience with pipe fitting and related trades is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in compliance with safety rules and internal responsibility system.
• Collaborate with others and contribute a positive attitude to the team.
• Follow drawings, specifications, and company procedures for piping work.
• Perform layout, measuring, drafts, and communicate maintenance/repair needs.
• Set up and operate threading and grooving equipment; thread piping and install various sizes of pipe.
• Safely use tools for preparation and installation of piping systems.
• Rig and support pipe sections; troubleshoot and resolve maintenance needs.
• Perform related duties as required.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Pipefitter to join ourGlencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury (Onaping), Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.

The hourly wage rate is $44.39 per hour, the position is eligible for applicable bonuses.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Works in compliance with the Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations safety rules and the internal responsibility system.

Work collaboratively with others while contributing a positive attitude and input to the team.

Performs work in accordance with drawings and specifications or to established company procedure, existing regulations or to acceptable trades standards.

Preforms layout, measuring, draft drawings, communicate information for maintenance repairs and improvements

Set up and safely operate threaded and/or grooving equipment, thread various sizes of piping, groove (Cut or roll) pipe of various sizes. Prepare and install various sizes and lengths of HDPE pipe and Victaulic couplings

Safely and properly use all tools (pipe wrenches, impact guns, Sawzall's, etc..) used for preparation and installation of piping systems

Experience and knowledge on rigging various sizes and lengths of pipe and supports

Ability to troubleshoot and work independently to solve/repairs any maintenance requirements

Performs other related duties as required.
