Job summary

Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a Fixed Plant Maintenance Planner for a full-time, unionized role at Falconbridge site. You will plan and schedule maintenance work for multiple trades and large projects, ensuring reliable operations and accurate department data.

Ideal candidates have a technical college degree or trades background, at least five years in maintenance planning, strong PC/CMMS skills, and the ability to lead contractors.

Qualifications

  • Minimum college graduate with a technical degree and / or a qualified tradesperson performing maintenance work in an industrial facility or the equivalent.
  • Minimum five years experience as a qualified tradesperson or the equivalent. Successful completion of the entire Planner training modules would be an asset.
  • Incumbents must possess high communication skills and be able to lead contractors and tradespersons.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule maintenance work for multiple skilled trades at one site, including large projects or major shutdowns.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance data and maintain department information.
  • Coordinate with contractors and tradespersons and manage workloads within provided guidelines.

Job description

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Fixed Plant Maintenance Planner to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

The position will be based in Falconbridge, Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent unionized position.

Rate of Pay: $1820.28 weekly plus applicable bonuses.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities

Working at one specific site, the Maintenance Planner plans and schedules the execution of maintenance work for multiple skilled trade groups. They may also plan and schedule the execution of work for large projects / major shutdowns. The Maintenance Planner generates and maintains department information.

Education and Skills

1) Education: Minimum college graduate with a technical degree and / or a qualified tradesperson performing maintenance work in an industrial facility or the equivalent.

2) Experience: Minimum five years experience as a qualified tradesperson or the equivalent. Successful completion of the entire Planner training modules would be an asset.

3) Job Skills: Incumbents must have a working familiarity with personal computers, Microsoft suite of software, Excel, CatBase, & Computerized Maintenance System equipment and tools. Incumbents must possess high communication skills.

4) Supplementary Skills: Incumbents also need to possess the following: the ability to work independently within provided guidelines; a high level of initiative and personal time organization skills to manage assigned workloads; and strong leadership and decision-making abilities to successfully manage contractors and tradespersons.
