Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Windsor, ON is seeking a Temporary Physiotherapy Assistant to support a supervising physiotherapist in delivering care to residents in long-term care communities. The role covers treatment plan components, gait and balance exercises, and group exercise sessions.

The position runs 12 months (Aug 31, 2026 - Sep 30, 2027) with a 28.50-hour weekly schedule and opportunities for mentorship within Lifemark's nationwide network.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or healthcare.
• LTC experience is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plan components for residents in residential care.
• Perform gait training, balance exercises, transfers, ROM, strengthening, and modalities as directed.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and clean up equipment for treatments and maintain tidy treatment areas.
• Ensure safety of the resident gym and treatment spaces and communicate changes to the physiotherapist.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Job description

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Temporary Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Windsor, ON

Schedule: 28.50 hours/week

Status: 12 months Temporary role (31st August, 2026 - 30th September, 2027)

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
