Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support a licensed physiotherapist in residential care settings. The role includes assisting with patient plans, delivering individual and group exercises, and ensuring equipment readiness and safety.

The position requires an PTA/OTA diploma or healthcare background, with LTC experience preferred and necessary screening and TB clearance in place. 4-month term starting late August 2026.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or kinesiology- or healthcare-related degree required.
• LTC experience is preferred.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months required.
• Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance proof required.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in LTC communities.
• Perform treatments as prescribed, including gait training, balance, transfer, ROM, strengthening, modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
• Deliver dynamic, safe group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain communication with physiotherapist about residents' status and interventions.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Job description

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Status: Temporary Full-Time (4 months starting 24 august, 2026)

Schedule: 33.5 hours/week

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
