Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support residents in Clinton, ON. You will work under a supervising physiotherapist to implement treatment plans and deliver group exercise sessions in a residential setting.

Ideal candidates hold a PTA/OTA diploma or a degree in Kinesiology, with LTC experience considered an asset. A valid Vulnerable Sector check within 6 months is required, along with proof of Tuberculin clearance.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or similar healthcare background.
• Experience in LTC setting is an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in residential care.
• Perform treatments and modalities (e.g., heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS) as directed.
• Deliver group exercise classes that are safe and therapeutically beneficial.
• Set up and prepare equipment, maintain a clean, safe treatment area.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Job description

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Clinton, ON

Schedule: 27 hours/week

Status: Permanent Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
