Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Hamilton, ON is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support the supervising physiotherapist and deliver mobility-focused care to residents in long-term care settings.

The role requires an PTA/OTA diploma or a related Kinesiology background, with LTC experience considered an asset. This temporary position runs July 24, 2026 to October 24, 2026, with a 40.75-hour work week and a focus on safety, documentation, and group exercise delivery.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or similar healthcare background.
• Previous LTC setting experience is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with components of treatment plans for residents in residential care.
• Perform treatments as prescribed, including gait training, balance, transfer, ROM, strengthening, and modalities.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean treatment areas.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about residents' status and interventions.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Hamilton, ON

Status: Temporary Full-Time (July 24. 2026 - October 24, 2026)

Schedule: 40.75 hours/week

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
