Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in King City, ON is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support our supervising physiotherapist across treatment plans for residents in residential care communities.

You will assist with gait training, balance exercises, transfers, ROM, and modalities, lead group exercise sessions, prepare equipment, and maintain safe, tidy treatment areas while documenting daily treatments in our web-based system.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in kinesiology or related healthcare field.
• Experience in an LTC setting is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in treatment plans for residents in residential care communities.
• Help with gait training, balance, transfers, ROM, strengthening and modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS) as directed.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Maintain safe and tidy resident gym and treatment areas.
• Record daily treatments in the web-based system and communicate changes to the physiotherapist.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: King City, ON

Status: Casual Part-Time

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities


• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)


• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents


• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments


• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy


• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions


• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background


• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
