Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team in a dynamic long-term care setting. The role supports the supervising physiotherapist with individualized and group treatment plans.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or a related healthcare field.
• Experience in long-term care settings is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in care communities.
• Perform prescribed treatments including gait training, balance, transfer, ROM, strengthening, and modalities.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up, prepare, and clean equipment for treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about residents’ status and treatment changes.
• Record daily treatments in the facility’s web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Permanent Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Schedule: 36 hours/week

Status: Permanent Full-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
