Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team. The role supports the supervising physiotherapist in residential care settings and contributes to individualized treatment plans.

The ideal candidate holds a PTA/OTA diploma or a kinesiology degree, with LTC experience preferred and current Vulnerable Sector screening plus tuberculin clearance. Join Canada’s leading rehabilitation group and help improve resident mobility and well-being.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or kinesiology degree required.
• Experience in LTC setting is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in care communities.
• Perform treatments as prescribed by the supervising physiotherapist, including gait training, balance, transfers, ROM, strengthening, and modalities.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment; clean up after treatments.
• Ensure residents' gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about changes or concerns.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Status: Casual Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises,
  transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
