Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Temiskaming, ON, is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team. You will support the supervising physiotherapist with resident care in long-term care environments and help deliver therapy sessions and group exercise classes.

• Experience in long-term care is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with residents' treatment plans.
• Perform prescribed therapies including gait, balance, ROM, strengthening and modalities.
• Lead safe group exercise classes for residents.
• Set up/clean equipment and treatment areas.
• Maintain clean, safe resident gym and treatment spaces.
• Communicate changes to the physiotherapist.
• Record daily treatments in the web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Temiskaming, ON

Status: Casual Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
