Job summary

Lifemark Seniors Wellness in Hamilton, ON is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to support the supervising physiotherapist in delivering care to residents in long-term care communities.

You will assist with gait training, balance, ROM, strengthening, modalities, and group exercise, set up equipment, maintain a safe treatment area, and document treatments in the facility's web-based system.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in Kinesiology or healthcare field.
• Experience in long-term care is an asset.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector check within 6 months.
• Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux) clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist with components of treatment plans for residents in residential care communities.
• Perform treatments as prescribed including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, and modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS).
• Deliver dynamic, safe, therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about changes or concerns.
• Record daily treatments in Seniors Wellness' web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Hamilton, ON

Status: Temporary Full-Time (July 24. 2026 - October 24, 2026)

Schedule: 40.75 hours/week

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
