Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a casual relief Physiotherapist to assess, diagnose and treat patients with impairments or disabilities across outpatient, inpatient and community settings.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree (or entry level Master) in Physiotherapy, be a member of the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists, and maintain CPR (BCLS) certification. Strong communication and computer skills (Outlook) are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or entry-level master's in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists.
  • Proficiency with computer tools including Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients with impairment or disability in outpatient, inpatient and community settings.
  • Educate and communicate with other health disciplines, patients, families and caregivers.
  • Supervise physiotherapy students and assistants.
  • Maintain CPR (BCLS) certification and participate in ongoing professional development.

About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree or entry level master program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body)
  • Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook)
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours

Casual relief; no guaranteed hours

Compensation And Benefits

$38.43 - $50.98 hourly
