Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, NS seeks a Physiotherapist to lead and deliver physiotherapy services to seniors in long-term care. You will assess, plan, and supervise a physiotherapy team while collaborating with a multidisciplinary group to achieve care goals.
The role requires ongoing education of staff, residents and families and active participation in Falls Prevention and Safe Resident Handling initiatives. Strong clinical leadership is expected.

The Physiotherapist reports to the Director of Quality and Professional Practice and oversees the delivery of physiotherapy services to seniors living in long term care. The physiotherapist completes assessments, develops treatment plans, collaborates with colleagues to determine care plan goals, oversees the physiotherapy team effectiveness, and provides clinical supervision to PT assistants The physiotherapist regularly educates long term care staff, residents and family members in several areas including falls management, safe resident handling and mobility. Effective leadership in a multidisciplinary team is a requirement of this position as the physiotherapist co-chairs the Falls Prevention and Safe Resident Handling & Mobility Committees.
The regular hours of work for this position are intended to be 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Given the scope and responsibility of the role, there may be a need to flex hours outside this range.
