Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Physiotherapist for a permanent full-time position in the Western Zone. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with impairment, pain, or functional limitations across outpatient, inpatient and community settings.

You will educate and communicate with other health disciplines, supervise physiotherapy students and assistants, and participate in program development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or MSc in Physiotherapy required; NS Physiotherapy Regulator membership.
• Computer skills including Outlook, word processing; CPR/BCLS certification.
• Additional courses in specialized areas are an asset; French preferred.
• Resume must include education, experience, training, and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with impairments or disabilities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Physiotherapy, or Master of Science in Physiotherapy
• Membership with the Nova Scotia Physiotherapy Regulator
• Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook)
• Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
• Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation And Benefits

$38.43 - $50.98 hourly
