Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a Physiotherapist to join the Rehabilitation Services team at Fishermen's Memorial Hospital. The incumbent will assess, diagnose and treat patients with impairments, pain, or disabilities across outpatient, inpatient, and community settings.

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will educate colleagues, supervise physiotherapy students and assistants, and communicate effectively with patients, families and other health professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or entry level master in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
• Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists (Provincial licensing body).
• Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS).
• Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc

• Assess, diagnose and treat patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities.
• Provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings.
• Educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You
