Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority in Western Zone, Queens General Hospital, invites applications for a Physiotherapist in Rehabilitation Services. The permanent full-time hourly position (75 hours biweekly) offers opportunities to work in outpatient, inpatient and community settings.

The role requires a Bachelor or MSc in Physiotherapy, registration with NS Physiotherapy Regulator, BCLS CPR, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College Physiotherapy Regulator.
  • Annual CPR (BCLS) certification.
  • Experience across diverse physiotherapy areas advantageous.
  • French language skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients with impairment or disability.
  • Provide services in outpatient, inpatient and community settings.
  • Educate and communicate with health teams, patients and families.
  • Supervise physiotherapy students and assistants.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The Physiotherapist may provide service in outpatient, inpatient and community settings. The Physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers. The Physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of assistants. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Physiotherapy or Master of Science in Physiotherapy
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College Physiotherapy Regulator
  • Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
  • Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses/education/training in many specialized areas or practice, e.g., cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent, full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
Compensation and Benefits

$38.43 - $50.98 hourly
