Job summary

Interior Health in Kelowna is seeking a relief, part-time Physiotherapist (0.60 FTE) to join the Home and Community Care team. The role includes (2–3 weekends per year), with weekdays 08:30 to 16:30 and a focus on independent and collaborative care in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Full licensure as a Physical Therapist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
• Valid B.C. Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients and develop treatment plans and implement them.
• Plan and modify programs to meet rehabilitation goals.
• Provide consultation and education to clients and caregivers.
• Prescribe and fit equipment as needed to support function.
• Educate clients and caregivers to promote independence and safety.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and team meetings.
• Supervise rehabilitation assistants as part of the team.

Position Summary

We are hiring a relief, part-time (0.60 FTE) Physiotherapist with Kelowna Home and Community Care. This position is expected to run until the return of the incumbent.

Days of work

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

Shift times

08:30 to 16:30

About the position

This position is based in the Kelowna Central geographic area out of Kirschner Home and Community Care. It includes participation in team rotation for weekend coverage (Saturday shift worked, Sunday on call), averaging approximately 2 to 3 weekends per year.

A Physiotherapist functions both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, delivering comprehensive physiotherapy services. These include assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program development, consultation, equipment prescription, and education for clients and/or their caregivers to support functional independence and optimize health outcomes. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Physiotherapist contributes to departmental and professional goals by participating in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and educational activities. They also provide guidance and direction to the rehabilitation assistant working within the team.
