Job summary

The Interior Health Authority is seeking a relief, part-time Physiotherapist for the Kelowna Home and Community Care team. The position is 0.60 FTE and runs until the incumbent returns, with work on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, 08:30 to 16:30, in the Kelowna Central area at Kirschner Home and Community Care.

• Assess and treat clients as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Develop and implement physiotherapy programs and plans of care.
• Provide equipment prescriptions and education to clients and caregivers.
• Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education.
• Supervise and guide the rehabilitation assistant within the team.

Job description

We are hiring a relief, part-time (0.60 FTE) Physiotherapist with Kelowna Home and Community Care. This position is expected to run until the return of the incumbent.

Days of work: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

Shift times: 08:30 to 16:30

About The Position

This position is based in the Kelowna Central geographic area out of Kirschner Home and Community Care. It includes participation in team rotation for weekend coverage (Saturday shift worked, Sunday on call), averaging approximately 2 to 3 weekends per year.

A Physiotherapist functions both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, delivering comprehensive physiotherapy services. These include assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program development, consultation, equipment prescription, and education for clients and/or their caregivers to support functional independence and optimize health outcomes. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Physiotherapist contributes to departmental and professional goals by participating in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and educational activities. They also provide guidance and direction to the rehabilitation assistant working within the team.
