Job summary

Interior Health Authority is seeking a relief part-time Occupational Therapist for our primary care network in Kelowna. The role supports OT assessment and interventions, including some group work, primarily in Rutland and Lake Country.

A BC driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are required. Days of work are Tuesday to Friday, 08:00 to 14:06, with the position lasting until July 2027 or until the current incumbent returns.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Therapist registered in BC with ability to assess and design treatment plans.
  • Experience delivering OT assessments and interventions in diverse settings.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive OT assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement therapy programs to promote independence and health outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to clients and caregivers.
  • Prescribe or recommend equipment to enhance daily living activities.
  • Participate in program planning, quality initiatives, research, and team meetings.
  • Provide guidance to rehabilitation assistants regarding transfer of function.

Job description

We are hiring for a relief part-time 0.62fte Occupational Therapist for our primary care network team in Kelowna. This is a temporary opportunity until July 2027 or the return of the current incumbent. This position works alongside family Physicians and other allied health clinicians to support clients with OT assessment and interventions, including some group work. This position predominantly supports clients in the Rutland and Lake Country geographical area and therefore a valid BC drivers license and access to a personal vehicle is a requirement.

Days of Work: Tuesday to Friday

Shift times/Hours of work: 08:00 to 14:06

About The Role

The Occupational Therapist works independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, and may be providing a full range of occupational therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community settings.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement therapy programs to promote functional independence and optimal health outcomes.
  • Provide consultation, education, and support to clients and their caregivers.
  • Prescribe and recommend appropriate equipment to enhance daily living.
  • Participate in program planning, quality assurance initiatives, research, and departmental meetings.
  • Offer guidance and work direction to rehabilitation assistants regarding transfer of function.
