Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC is seeking an experienced ASIC Engineer to define, model, design digital/analog IPs, optimize, verify and implement for high-performance, low-power SOCs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine product execution paths.

The role emphasizes backend implementation, floorplanning, PPA optimization, LLM/EDA tool usage, and rigorous timing/physical verification to ensure quality and efficiency of Qualcomm's next-generation devices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Physical Design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Low-Power Designs experience desired.
• SOC design experience is desired.
• Advanced technology node experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Drive the backend process through the entire implementation flow
• Floor-planning/ Block Partitioning /Power Planning
• Support Front-End team in performing PPA optimization trials
• Leverage LLM and EDA tools to drive PPA optimization
• Place & Route with special focus on power and area optimization
• Clock Tree Synthesis/Inspection/Optimization
• Static timing verification and timing closure experience
• Perform physical verification and fixing (DRC, ANT, DFM, LVS, ERC,…)
• Perform EM/IR signoff and address power integrity issues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

What You’ll Do

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

$129,600.00 - $179,600.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
