Job description

Position Summary

The Phlebotomy Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of the day-to day operations of the phlebotomy team.

*This is for Evenings/Nights

Responsibilities

Responsible for planning and organizing phlebotomy workflow and to ensure quality patient care. Effectively manages operations to ensure the phlebotomy team works efficiently to meet the expected turn around time for collections. Promotes teamwork and serves as a positive influence on the morale of the team. Troubleshoots and analyzes processes to improve quality and efficiencies. Is responsible for interviewing, hiring and training new employees. Ensures all phlebotomists are competent in the process of drawing blood and that techniques are performed according to standards. Assists with developing policies and procedures. Coaches and performs employee evaluations. Prepares employee schedules.

Qualifications

Associate in Medical Laboratory Technology with experience in phlebotomy or High School graduation and successful completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program with Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP or equivalent). A minimum of 3 years experience required.
