Job summary

LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services in Canada is seeking a Lab Patient Technician (Part Time) to greet patients, perform phlebotomies, ECG tracings, and special test collections across our Sault Ste. Marie locations. You will ensure proper protocol, maintain patient privacy, and document results.

Flexible schedule based on operational needs. Ideal candidates have an approved Laboratory Assistant program, phlebotomy/ECG experience, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
• Strong customer/patient service and ability to relate to patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, explain collection process, and ensure test protocol adherence.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Carry out special test collections and document related data.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
• Enter patient demographics and requisition information accurately.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
