Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.
• Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
• Strong customer/patient service with ability to relate to patients and clients.
• Strong empathy and adaptability; maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, obtain required information, explain specimen collection and test protocol.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Collect special test samples and complete related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships, respond to inquiries and follow up on requests.
• Data entry of patient demographics, requisition info, and processing details.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
